2023 marks the 40th anniversary of Yo-Yo Ma’s first recording of Bach’s Six Cello Suites. The Cello Suites are considered some of Bach’s greatest compositions, and Yo-Yo Ma’s exuberant and masterful performances would set a new standard for the interpretation of Bach’s instrumental music. This triple vinyl, three-panel gatefold, features Anna Magdalena Bach’s handwritten pages of the suites reproduced on each side, along with session photos, portraits and reproductions of original recording session documents not included in previous versions, plus a new essay by original producer Richard Einhorn.
