Diesel and Dust, produced by Warne Livesey and the band, is once again available on remastered organic vinyl. Released in August 1987, this sixth album by Midnight Oil is a powerful concept album, focused on the struggles of Indigenous Australians and the defense of wildlife and flora, essential themes dear to the band. Inspired by the 1986 Blackfella/Whitefella tour, undertaken with Warumpi Band and Gondwanaland within Australian Indigenous communities, it testifies to a unique artistic and social commitment. Recognized as a major work, Diesel and Dust left its mark on its era: in 1989, Rolling Stone ranked it thirteenth among the 100 best albums of the 1980s, and in October 2010, it was voted number one in the book 100 Best Australian Albums.
