In 1979, David Bowie, then in his Berlin period, had, as usual, perceived the nascent phenomenon before almost anyone else. Klaus Nomi was undoubtedly the first "famous" victim of AIDS in the world of music. What was then called "gay cancer," an unfortunate term reflecting the lack of knowledge about this new disease, tragically cut short the career of this atypical artist at the peak of his glory: platinum and gold records, ecstatic concert halls, a fascinated fashion world: Klaus experienced a meteoric rise between '79 and '82. Then he returned to his planet, wherever that may be….

To mark the 40th anniversary of Klaus Nomi's passing, Sony Music / Legacy is reissuing his entire official discography. His two studio albums "Klaus Nomi" and "Simple Man" on digipak CD / LP. The first album on ultra-limited cassette. His 1986 album "In Concert" for the first time on digipak CD. His compilation "Encore: Nomi's Best" for the first time on digipak CD and again on vinyl. A magnificent limited edition Deluxe 4LP box set in a rigid slipcase is also available, exclusively including the "In Concert" vinyl.
