Violinist Esther Abrami’s eponymous debut album on Sony Classical is a record where creativity is the watchword, playing with different styles of classical music and giving pride of place to new compositions. Collaborating with a wide variety of contemporary composers and musicians as well as the Vienna Radio Symphony Orchestra, Esther Abrami offers an inspiring album and brilliantly represents a whole new generation of classical musicians. British composer and pianist Alexis Ffrench, Dutch neo-classical pianist Annelie, French pianist and composer Alban Claudin, Oscar-winning British composer Rachel Portman, British cellist and composer Julian Lloyd Webber, and American film composer Jacob Shea,... All have contributed to Esther's album by offering her new compositions of their own. However, the album does not forget the great classical composers and includes original works by Clara Schumann and Amy Beach, as well as several new arrangements of some of the most famous classical melodies. Listeners will thus recognize Pyotr Tchaikovsky, Erik Satie, and Frédéric Chopin. German composer and pianist Florian Christl wrote a new arrangement based on Bach's famous violin concerto, while American producer and composer WideEyed created a new variation on Mozart's legendary "Eine kleine Nachtmusik." Another highlight of the album is "Sainte Victoire en sol mineur" - an orchestral composition that Esther wrote with one of her friends, French electronic music producer Worakls. "I decided to perform different styles of music to reach all my audience. The people who know me through TikTok are not the same as those who discovered me on YouTube or on the radio. I wanted this record to bring them together. I don't think we should put ourselves in a box and confine ourselves to a single style of music. In classical music, musicians tend to fade behind the music, but with this album, people can discover who I really am, because I honor all my musical tastes and I was able to be myself," explains Esther. She adds: "On this record, I was able to work directly with the composer Rachel Portman, who was one of my idols when I was younger. It was very important for me, and it goes in the same direction given with the tracks "Tomorrow" composed by Annelie or with Clara Schumann's "Romance". I want to inspire young women to become composers or classical musicians, because there are still too few of us. It's time to change things!"
