Hot off the back of his recent single release, ‘Alive!’, British artist Bakar announces his highly anticipated second album, entitled Halo, to be released on 1st September via Black Butter.Halo marks the start of a new era for Bakar. Following his acclaimed 2018 mixtape, BADKID, Bakar can be likened to a modern-day Jack Kerouac on this second album, exploring the dichotomy he feels as a young artist between the nomadic loneliness of a constantly touring life and the "lifestyle" of being a musician. Halo will include his recent single, ‘Alive!’, giving listeners a taste of what’s to come from the enigmatic mind of the young Londoner. Hailing from Camden, Bakar combines all the lyrical prowess of a rapper, the dexterity of a producer, and the songwriting talent of a singer. His early musical influences came from London's thriving grime scene, but also from the Red Hot Chili Peppers and English indie bands such as The Maccabees. Bakar took the music scene by storm with his 2018 mixtape, BADKID, produced in collaboration with his regular accomplice Zach Nahome. His 2019 US number one single, ‘Hell N Back’, became a remarkable hit reaching the Top 20 of the UK official singles chart – a landmark moment in his career. Following two buzz-worthy mixtapes, modelling campaigns with Louis Vuitton and Prada, and a Billboard AAA US chart-topping single, Bakar finally returns with the follow-up to his 2022 debut album, Nobody's Home. Through his music, Bakar depicts the universal story of love and the perpetually moving human experience. His upcoming album, Halo, is set to be his most captivating work to date.
