Produced by Nigel Godrich, Win and Régine and recorded in various locations, from New Orleans to El Paso, WE is Arcade Fire's sixth album. A 40-minute epic about the forces that threaten to pull us away from the people we love, inspired by the urgent need to overcome them. A truly cathartic journey, WE oscillates between light and shadow, across seven songs divided into two distinct sides: side "I" (a dive into our buried anxieties, our lack of physical connection, the fear and loneliness of isolation), and side "WE" (which expresses the joy and power of reconnection). These are uniquely outspoken songs, written, recorded and released at a critical historical moment (several lockdowns, an election, a protest movement and a global crisis).
